The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers is launching a brand new printmaking exhibitition: the RE Open. Designed as a showcase for excellence in printmaking, the exhibition will also provide a fascinating forum for consideration of current trends and new directions in this ever evolving and extraordinarily creative art form.

neo:printprize in association with Hot Bed Press is inviting artists to submit works across the full range of printmaking techniques from the traditional to the digital, and including 3D prints, monoprints and print related installations.

The V&A Illustration Awards celebrate the best illustration published over the last year. Original artwork from the best illustrated book, book cover, editorial illustration and student illustrator of the year are recognised. On these pages you can see all of the entries for 2012.
Congratulations to the five winners of the 2012 V&A Illustration Awards who were presented with their prizes at the awards ceremony on 11 June.
The judges of this year’s Published category were designer Orla Kiely, broadcaster and cultural commentator Emma Freud OBE and V&A Director of Design Moira Gemmill.
A display of the winning work can be seen in Gallery 74 from 12 June until 31 December 2012.

The special event will also be broadcast live through interactive streaming as part of the major BBC and Arts Council England digital project.
